Count down for NEW LIFE in 2008

My last post for this year 2007
hmmm let me try to remember "if not exactly" as least the outline of "what happened" this year...

Jan 2007: I received my TESDA NC1 License Data Encoder (for June 2006 test of skills exam)... new year of the 2007 year of the pig, at this point all of us, classmates, were anticipating to pass all the projects in time "digital clock!", and final exam before graduation.. Because I was the president in PCS our adviser (director of Guidance) Ma'am Madrona told me to tell my schoolmates in College of Technology (CT) that Accenture will be coming here in Davao to conduct an examination. Of course I first told my classmates announced it in class and then told our CT Dean Ma'am Otana. Then, I mass message through text to all my CCO (Campus Club Organization) friends, governors, mayors, to joined the job fair examination of Accenture at Waterfront Insular Hotel... Some of us classmates passed the exam with the title Assistant Software Engineer (system mainframe programmer) and Accenture offer us the salary of 16k a month but we must live at Makati.

Feb 2007: still studying very hard and making sure that we all pass the final exam, nagka-isa na kami, tulongan sa lahat... and I'm still thinking if I will accept the offer from Accenture...

March 2007: passing of projects and preparing all the requirements for graduation.. I received the contract from Accenture via postal mail... And their HR is calling my cellphone every now and then, follow up when our graduation date and to schedule for physical exam in UM Multi-Test... My parents saw the contract... and I'm convincing them... "I want to try to work with Accenture"... They were just speechless...

April 2007: graduation practice ...the graduation date is on April 21, after graduation some of us classmates decided to go outing at Canibad Beach in Samal Island. I can't forget that moment 2:00am I was already sleeping inside the cottage when my classmates were drinking outside called out to me ... to go out of the cottage and see the falling stars! I replied and said "you are all drunk! go to sleep!" then Rudith was beside me who woke up from my voice, she went out of the cottage irritated, she also called out to me "naa gyud falling stars ice!" (^_^) I saw the stars falling we didn't know it was meteor shower that time!
Regarding Accenture, my parents finally told me to find job here in Davao City before accepting Accenture's offer ... and so I started to find a work... I got to know someone special in our DOST Forum who also worked at Accenture, he is in Makati branch...

May 2007: still finding work, applying to all the prospect companies, everyday, I passed like 2 to 3 resumes, up to the point, I was lost in one place here in Davao City with my friend Jash, she was also unfamiliar what jeep to ride going home, the office was so far from the city proper.
My someone special told me to pass the contract right away in Accenture, so that I can start ASAP... I'm still thinking twice because of what my parents told me...

June 2007: Received my license NC2 passer in TESDA (Certified Computer Technician)... I'm still in process of passing resumes... called for interview so many times, but I was choosy and discourage so I intentionally just scan the exams and fail some of it because of their work place, and if I passed still I do not continue to work because of the "office place" was not friendly for a handicap (with crutches)...
took so many exams from different companies then finally it was almost end of the month... the fourth week of June when I decided to stop applying...
I told myself if no company will hire me here in Davao (before the end of June) that will suit my skills and capability, I will pass the contract via postal mail which Accenture gave me... And so, June 25: I told my someone special who is in Accenture I'm signing the contract now and packing it for mail but I'm still waiting for a sign before the end of the month...
June 27, around 11:00pm: I received a cellphone call from Ma'am Merju (ESPC Branch Manager) that I have passed the exam and need to start my work on June 29 (night shift) 10:00pm to 7:00am
(^_^) I was shock, surprise and very happy because it was my dream job "web developer" all about websites. She said that a client was impressed on the sites I gave for reference. (i was thinking huh!? client?)
I told my parents the next day, breakfast, I need to start work by June 29 here in Davao City because a client is waiting for me, I'm working as web developer. They were happy, finally I was hired to work here in Davao not in Makati yehey! but when I told them night shift, "huh!?" my dad reacted "what!? kaya mo kaya yan delikado yan ha!?" my mama just said "let's see, hayaan muna natin 1 week mag work ka kung hindi mo kaya, kung sa tingin mo magkakasakit ka wag mo na tuloy!"...

July 2007: my someone special is not amicable, little by little, when he knew I was hired, and not going to pass Accenture's contract (sooner or later). I'm happy with my work here in ESPC.. I kept on telling him about my work colleagues and client... still he continue to change and beginning to fade...

August 2007: broke up the relationship of being "someone special"... I was hurt... I put all my thoughts and energy at work to forget the pain... spend more time with work colleagues... and help my office mates, specially those who are new in our company. We had the FIRST TEAM BUILDING ... finally had the chance to meet all the agents from our day shifts...

September 2007: changed client because the contract with my first client ended ... learned so many stuff from my first client.. he thought me adwords, SEO... my tasks were not only as web developer but also a writer & link builder...

October 2007: My tasks was more like a virtual assistant with my new client then link building and graphics/web designning... also part time PM (Project Manager) at the fourth week of October, (started to hear some intrigues)... didn't mind it... I also attended first Mindanao Bloggers Summit... met so many blog mates and welcome new blog friends... met famous bloggers and learned so much from them...

November 2007: Learned so much about SEO from Ma'am Claire and received The LENSMATER AWARD in SEO Training because my squidoo was on #5 in judgement day (^_^) the highest ever in all the night shift agents... Became full time PM at night shift... and this was also the painful month... intrigues continues... adjusting to my new position was so hard, embracing my promotion was painful... (kasi nagiging kalaban ko na ang mga taong akala ko'y tunay na kaibigan)

December 2007: still continue coping and adjusting... emotionally battered because of what I thought my true friends - was not as I hope them to be...
I faced the reality of (their) true colors of the people around me... I'm not happy with the situation... But still strong to cope up with the issues...
Experience the First Christmas Party in our company...
Then I told myself to have a resolution for January "to embrace the position I'm in now as PM?"...hmmm... But still... waiting for a sign before this year ends...
then, I was told of the new plans for our company in January 2008, all what was said in our meeting on the night of 27th day of December... that was the memorable year end meeting, I can't say more about it but watch out for it. makikita naman eh!

Madaming nangyari sa 2007 year of the Pig 2007 was one of the colorful year in my life... not only did I have one of my dreams came true (to be computer degree holder) I have one of my wishes granted - to have the job as "web developer" ... /web master/web designer/graphics artist/virtual assistant" slash link builder slash SEO slash SEM ... (^_^) as Confucius said "find a job that you love and you will never work a day in your life"

also this year was an eye opener, I learned a lot in so many ways (easy/hard/experience/observation/studying/etc...)

New Life in 2008 year of the Rat I have kept it in my mind all the resolutions I will make. (hindi ko na e susulat baka hindi ko magawa)

Year of the Rat (Earth), which begins on February 7, 2008 and ends on January 25, 2009, Rat is the first animal among the 12 animals of Chinese Zodiac sign, means it could be a new or make a fresh start... it's really time for a new change.
